Migliora il tuo inglese oggi - Business English For Italian Professionals

The English Breakfast ☕️

Hi there,

Welcome back to another edition of The English Breakfast — the newsletter for Italian professionals who want to feel more confident and natural using English at work.

I’m relaxing in the Italian countryside of Monferrato right now, making the most of the sunny weather. Whatever you’re up to this weekend, I know you can’t wait to dive into this week’s material.

Well, before we get started, don’t forget you can visit my website for information on the courses and free material I have to offer.

Alright, let’s start with a challenge.

What’s the word?

Having a wide vocabulary is one of the most important parts of speaking English fluently.

But sometimes… the right word just doesn’t come to mind when you need it!

So let’s practise with a quick and fun challenge.

Here’s how it works:
You’ll see three words.
Your task? Think of one word that connects them all.

For example:
Cake – Dark – Milk
Any ideas? 🍫 Here’s a clue: it’s everyone’s favourite treat!

✅ The answer is Chocolate — you can say chocolate cake, dark chocolate, and chocolate milk.

How Much Grammar Do You Really Need to Speak English?

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by grammar rules — but also frustrated that your speech doesn’t always flow naturally? You’re not alone. Many learners tell me they “just want to speak,” not study endless verb tables and boring exercise (…and I don’t blame them!)

In my latest blog post, I talk about which grammar points actually matter for real-life English conversation — and how you can internalise them without turning every study session into torture. Plus, I’m sharing a free cheat sheet to help you build sentences that feel personal, memorable, and usable right away.

Avoid this common mistake

There’s a common error Italian speakers of English make when they want to translate the word “educazione“ to English.

Watch this week’s mini lesson to find out what the mistake is and how to avoid it.

😀 It was great!

🙂 It was OK.

🥱 There was nothing useful for me.

Have a great week and see you next time.
