OK, so graphs aren’t the most exciting thing in the world, but a lot of clients come to me to help them prepare for important presentations or meetings and a common theme is the need to describe trends, e.g. sales are going up, costs are going down (in an ideal world!)
Here are some common verbs and phrases you can use next time there’s a graph or chart in your presentation.
📈 Upward movement
soar → impennarsi
surge → aumentare bruscamente / impennarsi
jump → saltare / (i prezzi) aumentare improvvisamente
rise → salire / aumentare
📉 Downward movement
fall → scendere / calare
plummet → crollare
