I’m testing something new this week 👀

Migliora il tuo inglese oggi - Business English For Italian Professionals

The English Breakfast ☕️

Hi there,

Welcome back to The English Breakfast — the newsletter for Italian professionals who want to feel more confident in English at work.

If you find it difficult to make time to improve your English, the solution is to create small daily habits that take just a few minutes.

So this week I was thinking about a simple question:
What small thing can you do every day to improve your English?

One problem English learners have at all levels is phrasal verbs.
You need them to understand native speakers — and to sound more natural yourself.

But, again, the key is not learning lots of phrasal verbs at once.
It’s learning a few, often, and in context.

So today I’m testing something new 👇

🥁 The Fantastic Phrasal Verbs Quiz
A quick 3-part quiz you can complete in about 3 minutes.

Please do me a small favour 🙏
At the end of the quiz, answer the feedback question and tell me what you think.

If you like it, I’ll do one every week.
If you love it, I may even turn this into a short daily practice.

This is why meetings in English are so hard to follow

If you’ve ever spoken to a native English speaker and felt completely lost, don’t worry — it’s normal.

You just need to become more familiar with how English is really spoken.

Watch this week’s video to find out why — and how to improve.

This article made me smile, so I’m sharing it with you

Long story short — make sure you cook this mushroom well, or you’ll have a very particular hallucination 😄

Your task: make a note of 5 new words or phrases as you read.

All right, that’s it for this week’s edition.

Have a great week and I’ll see you next time.

All the best,

Dan
