Migliora il tuo inglese oggi - Business English For Italian Professionals
Hi there,
I’ve noticed lots of new subscribers this week, so a big welcome if this is your first edition! And if you’ve been reading for a while, welcome back. The English Breakfast is your newsletter for Italian professionals who want to feel more confident and natural using English at work.
Let’s dive straight in.
Have you made these mistakes in English?
This week, I’m sharing three very common mistakes English learners make. Take a look at the mini lesson below and see if you have ever made them too!

False friends challenge 🎲
Most of the mistakes in the video were false friends—words that look similar in Italian but have a different meaning (maledette 😅), so of course I thought you’d like a little challenge.
Do you find it hard to understand native speakers?
If your answer is “yes,” you’re not the only one! Native speakers often don’t speak clearly. We mix words together, we cut sounds, and sometimes we even change them.
So first of all: it’s not your fault.
The good news is that there are some simple pronunciation rules that native speakers use. If you learn these rules, it will be much easier to understand films, series, and real conversations.
I’ve made a course called Understand Real English. In this course, you’ll discover all the key pronunciation rules you need.
The first part explains the most common sound in English — and why it causes so much confusion. Want to know what it is?
Want to grow your vocabulary fast? Here’s how.
So, one of the best ways to learn new words in English is through reading. When you see words in a story or article, you understand them better because you see them in context. This makes it easier to remember and use them later.
But what should you read? Well, the great news is: you don’t need to read long, difficult books to improve. Even short texts at your level can help a lot.
👉So, I wanted to share this great resource with you. The British Council has a fantastic collection of reading activities online.
You can choose your level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced).
Each text comes with a quiz, so you can check your understanding and learn new words.
You’ll also see useful new words and phrases in action.
They’re short and easy to finish so you don’t need much time.
Want to try one and give your English an instant boost?

All right, that’s it for today’s edition. What did you think? Reply to this email and let me know 📧
Have a great week and see you next time.
