Migliora il tuo inglese oggi - Business English For Italian Professionals
Hi there,
Welcome back to The English Breakfast — the newsletter for Italian professionals who want to sound more confident and natural in English at work.
Christmas is still a few weeks away, but I’m already excited for the holidays. I’ll take some time off (September feels like a long time ago!) and I’m travelling to Scotland to visit my brother for a big family get together (= raduno). I’ll tell you all about the haggis when I get back.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s start today’s edition and look at some simple tips that can instantly improve your English.
How do you say “andiamo!” and “andiamo?” in English?
You’re going to need to use some specific vocabulary. Watch this week’s video to find out what it is. (Keep watching until the end for a free offer 🎁 )
Let’s see if you were listening carefully 😜
What needs to go in the gaps — shall or let’s? You can find the answers at the bottom of the page.
I think three desserts is enough. It’s time to go. ………. get the bill!
Mike: Did Andy finish drafting the contract?
Alice: I don’t know. ………. give him a quick call and find out.
………. I start?
……….we go to that new Indian place this weekend? You like spicy food, right?
………. I get you a coffee? You look like you’re falling asleep.
………. do one last example.
Is it ever coming home? ⚽️
Club football has never made much sense to me but I’m looking forward to the World Cup next year. Italy needs just two more victories to join the tournament this time, but can you guess all the countries that have already qualified so far?
Shameless promotion
